Description

Learn to observe and forecast weather conditions using traditional maritime skills and modern technology. Knowledge of weather information for planning and adapting navigation during short duration and extended voyages. Better understand “what was happening” and what caused the event. Most importantly, how to react to ensure safety.

Learning Format

16 hours taught over two weekend days. Eight hours each day (8:30-16:30).

Learning Investment

$605.00 per person.

Prerequisite:

  • A fundamental knowledge of weather, nautical or other, and a keen sense of weather observation and awareness is critical.

    • A keen sense of curiosity in all things weather is very helpful.

  • On-water experience is also very helpful.

Location

Wilmette or Waukegan Harbor.
