Sailing Weather Fundamentals

Description

This course offers basic weather fundamentals and critical forecasting techniques. Students will learn how to recognize existing and changing weather patterns including summer thunderstorm patterns seen from the water. We’ll discuss how to recognize and react to approaching severe weather, such as gust fronts, roll clouds, thunderstorms, and associating lighting.

Learning Format

6 hour course taught on weekends (8:30-14:30).

Prerequisites

None, though basic sailing and cruising skills will ensure your newly learned skills will apply to your sailing adventures.
