Heavy Weather Sailing Skills

Description

This course is designed to give opportunity for students to experience and sail in heavy weather conditions — 18-24kts of winds and significant waves. Students will learn to prepare the boat, sails, and crew to sail in higher wind and wave conditions and safely control the boat. Safely reefing underway, tacking, and gybing considerations in higher wind and waves.

Learning Format

3 hour course taught on weekends.

Prerequisites

Moderate Sailing Weather Fundamentals or equivalent experience.
