Moderate Weather Sailing Fundamentals

Description

This course is designed to give opportunity for students to experience and sail in more challenging weather conditions – 16-20kts of winds and moderate waves. Students will learn to prepare the boat, sails, and crew to sail in higher wind and wave conditions and safely control the boat. Safely Reefing underway, tacking, and gybing considerations in higher wind and waves.

Learning Format

3 hour course when weather presents itself for a safe learning environment. Students will be notified 3-5 days in advance of pending weather conditions in which to conduct the class.

Learning Investment

$170 per person.

Prerequisites

  • Sailing Fundamentals certification or prior experience in moderate sailing conditions is highly recommended.
