Radar Endorsement
Description
Able to properly use small-craft radar (or radar simulator) for piloting, navigation, and collision avoidance. Knowledge of radar principles and practical matters of radar operation. Regardless of experience with electronic navigational systems, this course helps more deeply understand the operational aspects of radar systems. Largely taught aboard, this course will help you better engage with your own boat’s radar system or that of a charter boat.
Learning Format
16 hours taught over two weekend days. Eight hours each day (8:30-16:30).
16 hours taught over four weeknight evenings. Four hours each evening (18:00-21:00)
Learning Investment
$605.00 per person.
Prerequisites
ASA 105 — Coastal Navigation along with other ASA Cruising Courses (ASA 103 or ASA 104)
The ability to demonstrate competencies in all knowledge and skills elements of that standard.
Location
Wilmette or Waukegan Harbor.
